Trunk or Treat and Trick or Treat

We went to church during the day for Trunk or Treat.  The boys got to play lots of games and see all their friends and of course eat candy.  Then, the Winsors invited us over for hamburgers and hotdogs at their house and we got to trick or treat in their neighborhood which had lots of trick or treaters.  The boys racked up on candy!

Ty's Fieldtrip

I got to go with Ty and his class to Southern Belle Farm today.  He was so excited to be with his friends and see the farm.  He is so cute with his friends; they have a lot of fun together.  His best friends in his class are Bentley, Lawson, Marissa, and Toby.  We each got to pick a pumpkin from the patch and Ty found the biggest one he could, I looked for the smallest and it fit in my pocket.  I love spending one-on-one time and this was a great day!

Donuts with Dad

Jeff got to go to school today along with other dads to spend time with the boys.  They enjoyed donuts and then just the kindergardeners got to carve pumpkins with their Dads.  I think Ty had a good time (and AJ didn't want to take a pic while he was eating his donut)

Layla and Mark's Party

We had the Baxter family over to celebrate Mark and Layla both turning 3 with a Mickey/Minnie Mouse party!  The 2 of them are such good friends and love being together.  Mark loves to spend time at Layla's house and we love having her at our house.  It's so fun to have a cousin who is the same age.  Jeff made a low country boil and it was so good.  After dinner, we had cake and opened presents.  Later we had a bon fire outside.  It was fun; we are so blessed to have an adorable fun loving son and an adorable sweet niece!

Poetry Competition

Both our school boys represented their classes in the school poetry competition today.  We were so proud of them.  AJ was the only boy in 2nd grade and Ty was 1 of 3 kids in kindergarten.

AJ's poem; My hat is full of rabbits by Ken Nesbitt

My hat is full of rabbits.
My cape is full of doves.
A playing card is up my sleeve,
and some are in my gloves.

A wand is in my pocket
with handkerchiefs and flowers.
My coat has things like ropes and rings
with mystifying powers.

I have my staff and juggling clubs,
my mirrors, cups, and dice,
my crystal ball, my smoke machine,
and fancy dancing mice.

I'm ready for my magic show.
There's just one problem here...
My elephant is on my lap
and will not disappear.
Ty's Poem
My Lunch by Ken Nesbitt
A candy bar.
A piece of cake.
A lollipop.
A chocolate shake.

A jelly donut.
Chocolate chips.
Some gummy worms
and licorice whips.

A candy cane.
A lemon drop.
Some bubblegum
and soda pop.

Vanilla wafers.
Cherry punch.
My mom slept in
while I made lunch.

Mark turns 3!

After a fun weekend camping, we celebrated Mark's birthday. We had dinner at the Mexican restaurant, then took a trip to Toys R Us where Mark pretended to ride all the power wheels and picked out a toy laptop.  Then we came back home for some cake!  It was simple, but he was a happy boy!

Camping with Cubscouts

AJ's cubscout pack went camping this weekend at Lawhorn Scouting Base in Molena, GA.  We decided to make it a family trip, so we bought some supplies (including a tent) and joined the group.  Each pack had their own area for families to set up their tents, with a fire pit and covered picnic tables.  They have experienced campers in the group who had all the supplies we forgot and had a great system for cooking.  We ate meals together with the pack.  The boys had a great time and they let Ty and Mark participate in all the activities.  They did relay races, tug-o-war, sack races, sling shots, shot archery, and BB guns  We saw a reptile show, painted pumpkins and later got dressed up in costumes for the haunted trail.  The first night our tent was tested because it rained on us, but we stayed dry.  The boys slept well and Mark took naps in the tent too.  It was quality time for us to be together as a family and make new friends, we'll definitely do it again!

Mark at 3 years

Our youngest is 3 years old today!

Mark . . .

loves to eat, especially in the morning.  He'll ask for cereal, a granola bar, a bananna and continue to ask until I tell him "we have to take a break".

loves to talk!  Sometimes he will go on and on telling a story or just asking questions.

likes to sing in the car because he recently broke my car stereo.  He likes to sing B-I-B-L-E, and "when your jumping" and he knows all the words.

wants to ride in his power wheels car everyday and usually asks in the morning if he can "ride his car".

loves his blanket Aunt Jenny made for him.

dances when he has to go potty and when I ask him if he needs to go, he'll say no.  He likes to put it off until the last minute, unless he's in trouble; when we send him to his room, he says, "I have to go potty".

says, "not 2" (long pause) "three" when I ask him how old he is, he simpl

likes to watch Blaze, Team Umizoomi and Curious George

is so big- he wears size 4T pants, 4T-5T shirts, and size 12 shoe.

Mark is such a blessing and our family wouldn't be complete without him.  We are so thankful for him and his sweet, silly personality!
