puzzles

Recently, Aiden has been very interested in puzzles. He has a set of four (12 piece) puzzles that we do on a daily basis about 10 times a day. He needs some "guidance" so I help him. I show him which piece to use and he can put them together. It's neat to see his little mind at work. Here, he is celebrating the completion of the puzzle. When he finishes it, he cheers and says "ALLLLL DONE"!

Swimmin'

We took a family trip to our neighborhood pool. We went early because we thought it might be cooler- it was 90 degrees by 10:00 am!

Ty took his morning nap under the shade.
Aiden loved swimming with Da-da. He jumped to him many times!

Father's Day

We had a great day yesterday. Jeff celebrated Father's Day by playing golf and our family spent time with both our Father's. They are both great at being a father and grandfather!



Ty and Aiden have such a great father- he makes them both laugh more than anyone else. Aiden adores Jeff and wants to be just like him. He does everything Da-da does, from wearing a hat, to playing golf, to washing cars. Ty loves listening to Daddy talk and make funny faces at him. He is entertained by Jeff and could watch him for hours. I am so blessed to have Jeff as my partner in raising our boys!

Ty- 4 months + Doc Update

Ty is four months old today! We went to the doctor this morning and he looks great! He is a big healthy boy. The doc was impressed that he is rolling over and sleeping through the night already.

Here are his stats:
Head: 16 3/4 57%
Height: 26in 83%
Weight: 17lbs 8oz 90%

My Doc said not to worry that his percentages were so high and I think its great that they are high. He is growing and developing very well!

Ty got 3 shots (Hib, Polio, Hep B, Diphtheria, and Pneumococcai, PCV vaccines) and he wasn't too happy about it. He ate and felt much better shortly after. It still breaks my heart to see him scream after the pokes.

Compared to Aiden at this age, Ty is heavier, but shorter.







Ty . . .

now rolls both ways (front to back and back to front). He's starting to learn he can get across the room this way.

loves to eat, every 2-3 hours during the day.

does not like bottles, he hasn't taken one in over a month, and we've tried many times.

sleeps all night from about 9:30pm to 7:00am

smiles all the time. He loves to be looked at and spoken to. He will "talk" back and smile. Aiden lays on the floor with him and they just stare at each other.

does this spit/bubble blowing thing that Daddy taught him. They do it to each other and Ty does it all the time.

is drooling all the time! I'm wondering if he might be an early teether.

is very laid back and a go-with-the-flow baby.

is wearing 6-9 month clothes and even some 12 months. I just packed up all the 3-6 month stuff!

is starting to reach for toys, especially ones held over his head when lying on the floor.

snores like an old man.

Chores

Is 2 years old too young to start doing chores? I'm thinking no- I'll take any help I can get!

Aiden is such a great helper around the house! He loves to vacuum, and he actually does a pretty good job. He gets bored/frustrated with his toy vacuum since it doesn't actually pick things up, but the real vacuum is much more exciting! I usually vacuum a room and let him use it after me, he is always anxious to help while I'm using it.

We planted some lilies in the front yard and Aiden loves to water them each day. He sprays each flower and bush and then he'll spray the house or the driveway or whatever he can find. He usually ends up soaking wet after watering, but it entertains him for a good half hour or so! :-)


He also loves to throw things away. He will find a tiny piece of trash on the carpet and say "trash" and put it in the garbage. He takes Ty's diapers to the trash for me. Another chore he helps with is laundry. He takes clothes from a room and puts them in the washer, and when the washer is done, he will help me put them into the dryer. If only I could get him to fold. :-)

Ty

Ty loves being on the floor- on his stomach. Any time I put him down on his back, he immediately rolls over to his belly and stays in that position. He won't roll back the other way onto his back, but I think he's just more comfortable on his belly. He does sleep on his back though.

He is "talking" all the time now- random outburst mainly, and he's pretty loud too. Lots of "coos" and "ahhhhhs".
