Aiden and I went out to Athens for a couple days to visit my brother and his family! We had so much fun! The weather was great and we were able to do lots of things!
We played in their pool! Aiden and Marley floated around together for a while.

Shoes
Before I had Aiden, all my friends and family told me that kids go through clothes so fast. . . and they were right . . . he did. He was in the newborn size for about a week and the 0-3 month size for only the first month. There were actually some clothes that he never got to wear. He was a big kid and he grew really fast (and still is). The thing I didn't realize is that his feet would grow so fast. I never put shoes on him until he started walking. People also bought me shoes that he never wore. The first time I put shoes on him he was a size 4. This was this past winter- November. I got this great pair of cute brown shoes from a yard sale (on right in pic). He wore them to church and with his "nicer" clothes, but I wanted to get him some good tennis shoes for play. I went to the store and found some adorable Nike's- all boys need Nike's right? I bought one size up, so he could wear them for a while. They were $24- a lot for me to spend on a pair of shoes, but I splurged because they were so cute- I thought they would last for the next year or so. Boy was I wrong. I think he wore them for about 2 months. Jeff put on his sandals this past weekend (size 6) and he was shoving Aiden's foot in them. They are now too small. So here we are in June (7 months since the first pair of shoes) and Aiden is wearing a size 7. 4 sizes in 7 months!! At this rate, he'll be ready to join the circus by the time he's 5. (clown feet) I bought these shoes at Wal-Mart for $10(left in pic). No more $24 Nikes that he'll only wear for 2 months! Ha Ha!

Yum Yum, Dirt!
Aiden is super hungry these days, and it seems that I don't have enough food to keep him full. He searched around the house for something to eat . . . and he found dirt! Actually it's plant soil, but nonetheless it looked appetizing to him so he dug in and ate a whole fist full.
Yum, yum! It taste so good. I had to document the incident (for you) before I fussed at him. It was hard with that look on his face, sometimes you just can't help but laugh. :-)

Weekend Wrap
It's been a week since I've posted! I took a blog vacation. Well, not really- I've just been busy, but what else is new. Aiden's molars are coming through more and he has been fussier than normal- but he is also sleeping more. I can't complain. I received many compliments (verbally) on my "bath time" post. It seems I have more readers than it appears, which is a nice compliment. Who doesn't love to hear about what's happening in the life of a toddler?- I know it's mostly moms (outside of our family) that are interested, but nonetheless I am happy to provide you with laughter or at least a smile.
Just a few minutes ago we got to talk to my dad who is currently serving in Afghanistan. Aiden and I speak to him via skype about once a week. Today Aiden and Chief played peek-a-boo!
Aiden loves spending time with Daddy on the weekends! This was after church on Sunday.

Bath Time
I love bath time, but sometimes with all the playing I do, I get thirsty. Let me show you what I do when I need a drink of water during bath time.
First you have to turn on the faucet. This was difficult for a while, but now I am just tall enough to reach it. I have to lean into the spout and sometimes when I turn on the water I get my belly wet and it gives me a "shivey" because the water is cold.

New Skill
Guess what Aiden learned to do? take off his diaper! Daddy went to get him out of the crib this morning and he found a bare bottomed child! We think it had just happened, because his diaper was full and his sheets were dry. Guess we got lucky this time. Many times we put him to bed with just a t-shirt on because it tends to get warm in his room, but from now on we will put shorts on him. I don't think he is skilled enough to take his shorts off yet. My worst fear is him playing in his own poo. From what I hear it's very common. I think most kids have done it at least once in their life. Ugh! I would just dread the clean up. Let's hope it doesn't happen.

Big Pool
We thought Aiden liked his little pool that we bought from Wal-Mart, well he REALLY likes the big neighborhood pool. Ashley and I took both Aiden and her daughter to the pool on Tuesday and the kids had a blast! Jeff and I went again last night. Aiden loved hanging out in his float, he kicked his feet and splashed with his hands. Daddy got him out and threw him up and he loved that too. We dunked him one time and he did great! He was a little nervous, but he didn't cry. He was entertained by the older kids. He loved sitting and watching them. Our pool is really nice and hasn't been too crowded either time we went. It is very family friendly. I think he's going to be a water baby!

Doc Update
Aiden had his 15 month check up on Friday. The Doc said he is doing great! Here are his stats:
Height: 33 1/4 in - 95%
Weight: 27.4 lbs - 81%
Head: 19 1/4 in - 91%
We were told that Aiden is going to be very tall (like his Daddy). We are going to start working on eating with a spoon (wish me luck), and scribbling on paper. My Doc wasn't concerned that he isn't talking much- he just said boys are more quiet than girls and that he was developing at a normal rate. No shots this time- Aiden was glad. We go back when he is 18 months.
