Easter

Easter weekend was so much fun!  We attended 2 egg hunts on Saturday where the boys collected lots of eggs full of candy and money!  They spent time with their cousins playing outdoors, eating Popsicles, and tormenting a lizard (see pic below).  We went to church on Sunday morning to celebrate Christ's resurrection! That afternoon, we spent time outside enjoying the weather.

Pickin' Strawberries

We went to Southern Belle Farm on Friday morning to pick some fresh strawberries with the boys.  Both the boys loved it.  Ty had a great time walking through the rows of strawberries and Aiden actually picked about 80% of the berries we brought home.  He reminded us, "the green ones are bad and the red ones are good".  He had a little trouble handeling the strawberries- he squished a few and got red berry juice all over his hands (of course I had wipes),  but he did a good job of finding the ripe ones.

I love teaching our children that the best food actually comes from the ground and not the grocery store.  Of course these strawberries were so delicious (much better than store bought), and we have been eating them everyday!  Both the boys like them, but Aiden could eat them all day!

First Word

Ty has been babbling for a while and he says many different sounds, but there hasn't been a clear association with any of his words . . . until now.  I think we may have an athlete on our hands!  Ty said his first word today!  We were playing in the back yard and he picked up a golf ball, threw it and said "Ba".  He did this numerous times and he smiled at me as he threw the ball.  I told Jeff about it when he got home and Jeff handed him a play ball in the house and he picked it up, threw it, and said "Ba" again and again.  It was pretty cute!

Mom's New Camera

Jeff surprised me with an SLR camera for my birthday!  I was shocked and very excited!  It was a really great birthday- one I will never forget.   

I took the boys to a park to test it out.  The camera is very advanced and I have a lot to learn, but with kids this cute, you just can't go wrong. :-)  Here are some of my first pictures with my new camera . . .

Pool Time

It was such a warm day, we thought we would bring out the kid pool for the boys.  While the air temperature was hot, the water temperature was not!  It was very cold and Ty didn't like it at all.  Aiden played in the pool for a while with just his feet in the water, but later slipped into the cold water.  After that he didn't get in any more.  I'm not sure the time it took to blow it up and fill it with water was worth the 10 minutes they actually played in it.

Sand

The spring weather has arrived and it was time for a new bag of sand in the sand and water table.  We set it up and let the boys dig in.  They built a castle, a tunnel, a train track, and covered themselves in it, but they had a blast playing in the sand!
