Gingerbread House

The tradition continues with building a gingerbread house at Christmas time.  At first our house didn't have enough frosting and the roof slid right off.  AJ repaired it by adding lots of frosting and it held up for a while until the boys covered it with candy, making it heavy and it slid again.  So we decided it was time to eat it.  No time for a finished house picture. :-)

Making Chocolates

Like the past few years, we've been making chocolates to give as gifts and the older boys were interested in helping.  They made a tray of chocolate pretzels and made Oreo Truffles from start to finish.  They did great, but kept wanting to lick their fingers and utensils.  I guess I can't blame them.  I love having helpers in the kitchen!

Ralph

We weren't sure if our elf was going to find us at our new house, but he did!  He's been up to his usual mischievous ways.  Ty loves looking for him every morning.

Ty's Christmas Party

Today I got to spend some time with my sweet Ty.  We made a gingerbread house together and had more ingredients to choose from that you can imagine.  Ty loved putting lots of icing on his house and he was very creative with decorating it.  He put a window on his house, a chimney, front door and even made a snow man.  We had fun and I'm so blessed to be able to do these fun things with him.

Mark's First trip to the Dentist

All the boys went for a cleaning today, but it was Mark's first time since he is 3 now and he did great!  Of course he loved the fun games and toys to play with and he was very still in the chair during his cleaning.  Such a big boys like his brothers!

Performance at Church

On Wednesday nights, the boys and their friends at church had been preparing for a short play and today was their performance.  They were both adorable and the whole group did a great job!  AJ was a "decoration" and Ty was a "cookie".  AJ had a short line and he said it right on que.  The play reminded us that Christmas isn't about decorations, cookies, lights, or a tree; It's really about Jesus.  At the end they sang "Oh What a Glorious Night".

Nursing Home Visit

Our small group got together today with our families to visit some nursing home residents.  The kids made cards and cookies to hand out.  The residents were very grateful and loved seeing the kids.  We were glad that our kids were able to serve them and bring a smile to their faces.
