Aiden- 6 years old

Six years ago, God gave me the privilege of being a mother.  I LOVE it, it's been a wonderful journey and we're just getting started.  Aiden is such a unique special little boy.  He's the big boy in our house, but every time I pick him up from school, I am reminded just how little he still is. :-)

Aiden . . .

has improved in reading so much this year.  He knows hundreds of sight words and can sound out most other words.  I love hearing him read.

is very sweet to Mark.  He will feed him, help him, and give him toys to play with.

loves riding his bike more than other activity!

likes playing golf, playing Wii, playing games on my ipad, air hockey, twister, and playing games with other people.

is now wearing his third pair of glasses in a year.  On the first pair, the nose piece broke, and the second pair got a scratched lens.  He is only slightly nearsighted in his right eye.

tells me he doesn't like school, but likes outside time and gym.  He gives up very little information about what they do at school each day.

is still shy and doesn't like to talk to people he doesn't know well.

can be very bossy to Ty ordering him to do things.  Most of the time, Ty will do them without question.

can swing on his own by kicking his feet out and under.

has such an interest in speed.  He loves to talk about how fast anything goes (cars, bikes, planes, trains, etc.)

is very ticklish.

likes to eat peanut butter, strawberries, chicken nuggets, applesauce, granola bars, grapes, chicken noodle soup, spaghetti and has recently become interested in how much protein is in every food (because Dad told him it will make him stronger).  Once I told him that cauliflower has the most protein and he asked for it for days and actually ate it too.  :-)

now eats string cheese and cheese on pizza, but no other cheeses (unless he doesn't know it is in the dish)

likes to randomly get a pencil and paper and write.  Recently he wrote "Jef and Hide luf ech uther" and it just melted my heart.

is such a good sleeper.  has not woken up in the middle of the night in longer than I can remember.

I brought Chick-fil-A and Chocolate/chocolate cupcakes to Aidens school for lunch today per his request and we will have Chick-fil-A again for dinner because thats what he wanted.  I asked him this morning if he was going to continue to cuddle with me now that he is 6 and he told me he would cuddle with me until he turns 32. :-)

Happy Birthday Big Boy!

Birthday Lunch

As requested, I brought this birthday boy Chick-fil-A and chocolate cupcakes, with chocolate icing and sprinkles.  :-)  Love one-on-one time with him!

Dave & Busters

Because our boys had so much fun last year, we decided to take them back to Dave & Busters as their birthday present.  Its so fun for Jeff and I to spend time with them, they are both "big kids" now and going places without Mark seems so much easier.  It was a day all about them, without interruption from their little brother. :-)  It was great because they had new and different games, but also some of their favorites from last year.  They played racing games, Deal or No Deal, Fruit Ninja, Temple Run, Mario Cart, Skeet Ball and their favorite the coin game.  They loved it because they won lots of tickets.  Aiden jumped up and down as he saw the machine spit out hundreds of tickets.  I think we ended up with over 3000 and the boys walked out with some neat prizes and candy of course.  We shared milk shakes and a snack while we were there.  I see this becoming an annual tradition.

Ty- 4 years old

Our middle boy turned 4 years old today!

Ty . . .

still has trouble with l and k sounds.  "I love you" comes out "I wove you" and he calls his little brother "Mart"  He also says "in" at improper times.  He'll say, "Can I have in a snack?"

eats really well and has never been picky.  He loves chips, french fries and other salty snacks.

loves to help.  Lately he likes to put the trash bag in the container.  He loves "shaking" the bag to open it up.

adores his older brother.  When asked what he wants, he'll say, "what does Aiden want" and then choose what Aiden does.

likes to watch Peppa Pig, Max & Ruby, and Paw Patrol, as well as his old favorite- Team Umizoomi

has a best friend at school. Ms. Emery.  Ty's teacher tells me they are inseparable.

loves going to school.  Almost every morning, he'll ask, "Am I going to school today?"

loves playing Wii, riding his bike, throwing the Frisbee, and throwing and kicking balls.

sometimes goes mute, especially when he is in trouble.  If I ask, "Ty did you push your brother?", he will give me a blank stare and not say a word.

still takes naps, but not everyday.  He will go down without fuss if I think he needs one and usually will sleep until I wake him up (1 1/2-2 hours)

is much more of a risk taker than Aiden.  He is more willing to jump off high places or climb on things.

still loves to share and is very generous.  He'll offer, "Mom, you want some?" or if I give him a snack, he will bring one to Aiden as well.

is very tall.  He is the tallest in his class, and many of his peers are 6 months older than him.

wears 5T pants and 5T shirts and size 13 shoe.

Ty requested Chinese "Sesame Chicken and rice" for dinner tonight.  We are so blessed to have Ty in our family.  He is my happy, sweet, quiet, yet rambunctious child.

Ty's School Bday Party

Ty's Birthday falls on Winter Break, so Mark and I went to his school today to celebrate his birthday with his classmates and teachers with cupcakes!  It was the end of the school day and the kids were already excited!  They sang to Ty and then all ate their cupcakes.  Most of them were very interested in Mark and of course all Mark was interested in was a cupcake.  I couldn't get him seated with a cupcake in front of him fast enough.  Ty loved it and said he had a fun day!
