Streaming

Our usual bed time routine with Aiden is to take a bath, put on his PJ's, brush his teeth, read a story and then he goes into the crib. Jeff and I have always done it together- it's just easier that way. The other night Aiden had his bath like usual and we got him out and dried him off. He loves to run around naked- like most toddlers do I'm assuming, and he runs around w/ his towel on his head dragging it behind him, sort of like a cape. He walks around his room (almost running) and gets excited! Jeff and I just watched him and laughed for a few minutes. We let him play naked a little longer than usual because he was having such a good time. He walked to a corner of his room and started reading a book and then I heard it . . .  a noise. I looked over and sure enough Aiden had "relieved himself", without looking up from his book. Thankfully, it was a straight stream and only got on the floor. He finished his business and kept playing, going to the other side of the room w/ his book in hand. Jeff and I laughed about it and I thought I'd share the story with you. :-)

My Hubby

Aiden has a really cool Daddy- and Aiden knows it- Jeff left for work yesterday and he cried for 15 minutes. He definitely loves his daddy- and I love him too! My husband is an amazing man, his support of me staying home w/ Aiden means so much. Jeff, these are some of the things I appreciate about you and the man you are:
Thank you for being a great father.
Thank you for being impressed when I say "I got 3 loads of laundry in today"
Thank you for never complaining when I don't cook and you have to eat Ramen for dinner
Thank you for appreciating it when I do have dinner on the table.
Thank you for noticing and appreciating when I clean the house or do laundry.
Thank you for not saying anything when the house is a wreck.
Thank you for giving me a break when I need it.
Thank you for cleaning the kitchen when I have to work at night.
Thank you for cooking breakfast on the weekends.
Thank you for playing w/ Aiden even when you are tired from work.
Thank you for getting up in the middle of the night when he's fussy.
Thank you for making "date nights" a priority for us.
Thank you for calling me during the day to check on us.
Thank you for who you are and all you do for our family! I'm so glad I have you as my partner in this adventure called life. I love you honey!

Ladies man

Aiden is quite the ladies man, don't you think? ha ha! Actually these are his cousins (sort of). Marley (left) is my brother's daughter and she is 4 1/2 months old. Maddie (right) is my friend Ashley's daughter and she is 5 months old. I was surprised that Aiden actually stayed still for the picture. He has fun playing with them but we have to tell him to be gentle and not hit the girls. I think they will play better together when the girls get a little older. He definitely gets jealous when I hold or feed one of the babies because he is used to being mommy's one and only. I'm glad he's around other children; it is good for him to learn to play together.

Good Morning!

This morning Aiden slept till 9:30! For once, he wasn't my alarm clock, so I got up and took some pictures of him before he woke up.

Here he is waking up.

and here he is ready to get up and play . . .

Isn't he cute in the morning?

In the cabinet

Most of our cabinets have childproof locks on them, but a few that have boxes or plastic containers are open. Aiden has pretty much figured out which ones are accessable to him. Today he decided to climb into the cabinet. He makes me laugh everyday.  He tried his very best to get his whole body in there, but some boxes were in the way. His right foot got stuck and then he got mad. It was cute though.

I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much.

Doc Update

We went to the Doctor on Friday and here is the report;

Height 31 1/2 in- 75%
Weight 23 lbs 8 oz- 60%

Aiden's percentiles have dropped, but I'm sure it's because he's walking now.  He is always on the move.  He is closer to average, but is still a big boy.
His head circumference measured in the 98%- big headed boy!  The doctor called it the "big toddler head".  Hopefully this just means he'll be smart!
The doctor said he looks great and his skills are up to par; she said we need to get rid of the passy soon and work on talking a bit more.

Party!

We had a great time at Aiden's birthday party on Saturday. The weather turned out to be beautiful and we had many special people at our house.  Everyone was so anxious to see what Aiden thought of his cupcake (his first taste of sugar) and he didn't even like it. ha ha! We wanted him to tear into it, but I fed him and it just came right back out. He prefers veggies! :-)
We are so excited to start a college fund for Aiden with the money our friends and family gave at his party.  We are so grateful for everyone's generousity. His account will be started with over $500! It was a wonderful way to celebrate his first year!
